Leandra's History:
Leandra was born the child of one of the countless minor houses within the Western Empire. They were the lords of the city of Traldor within the Barraduk Province. The urban area that the family lived in was actually several cities joined together each with its own minor noble. In many ways, it could be considered one city. Leandra's family, the Valakar house, was quite successful and lived comfortable with a fairly large estate. While the Valakar family collected some of their money through taxes, they also were involved in trade and were partial owners of the local docks within the city which the house lived. As a result of this, they had a good working relationship with the most powerful of the local Thieves Guilds and covertly supported them due to the fact the Family preferred a controlled underground to an uncontrolled underground. Through them, they worked out a means of escape in case anything went wrong. The Valakar house also left funds with the Thieves Guild to pay for an escape. Unlike many of the nobles within the Western Empire, the Valakar family was pretty popular with their subjects and not as corrupt as many.

Like most changelings, the Valakar family posed as humans for their own protection. Only a small number of trusted people knew that they were changelings. The household also took on a number of less well of changelings as servants in order to protect members of their race. At the birth of each child, a form was chosen by the parents. Leandra parents decided that she would be a female as that they had the oldest child as a male and as heir. Being able to mimic all forms was important so Leandra was taught to shape shift into a variety of different identities. As well, she was taught to never reveal the fact of being a changeling because changelings were often hunted and killed. In education, Leandra was taught most of the same training that most noble women were taught but was also taught skills needed to take the form of the elder 'Brother' incase that sibling died. Leandra was also taught how to fight with the family weapon, the Haladie. In case Leandra later developed psionics, centering and focusing was also taught. If everything had went according to planning, Leandra would have married a changeling noble in another city to help strengthen ties with others.

Events occurred to change Leandra's fate when at the age of ten. Several of the Noble families of the nearby cities were jealous of the successes of the Valakar family and looked for ways of undermining them and taking over. They tried for many years without success until they hired the Assassins Guild to kidnap a trusted servant of the family. The Assassins guild was glad to take the contract due to the fact that the Valakar family was on good terms with the Thieves Guild. After the servant was kidnaped, they tortured him to reveal information. It took a few days but eventually he broke and revealed the fact that the family were changelings. Armed with this information, the nobles gathered up their guards into an army and attacked the estate of the Valakar family. After the assault, the entire family was murdered with the exception of Leandra who had thought to dress in the clothing of a servant and change appearance. All possessions and property of the Valakar family were seized. Leandra was grabbed by a guard who considered the child to be a servant child and sold 'Her' to a local children's brothel. Leandra was able to escape within a few days and appeared at the Thieves Guilds secret headquarters.

For a time, the Thieves Guild could not figure out what to do with the child. They eventually decided to have Leandra teleported by a trusted mage to the Eastern Territory and have the child apprenticed to an also trusted Thieves Guild in a large city there. Like many changelings, Leandra became an excellent thief and quickly learned the skills needed to survive and prosper. Soon after becoming a Journeyman, the young thief completed a huge job. Leandra raided the treasure of a powerful wizard by mimicking one of his servants and was able to sneak right out. Leandra sold most of the loot to commission magic weapons but did keep a magic ring that protected the wearers skin from damage.
